WELCOME TO AUSTRALIAN FANTASY ADVENTURES

THANK YOU FOR VISITING AUSTRALIAN FANTASY ADVENTURES!
Some of the most unusual animals on the planet live in Australia. It’s exciting to introduce these extraordinary animals to young readers in a way that’s thrilling and educational all at the same time. In my book, The Sword of Demelza, many of Australia’s animals come to life, roaming a fantasy world called Sunderland. Young readers may not even recognize the names of these interesting animals. But once they read of their adventures, I'll bet that they will want to know more!! Below is a link to an exciting web site that contains pictures and information about Australian animals, many of which inhabit Sunderland. Check back in the near future to see a NUMBAT, and to hear what he has to say in the Sword of Demelza.
Take time to explore the below WEB site!!

  1. What an interesting link! Australians might be familiar with most of these, but for me, as an American, so many of these animals are new and exotic.

    1. I was not familiar with many of the animals myself until I began to research. My main goal is to bring some of these unusual animals to light; to educate as well as entertain. Most children in the US have never heard of these animals, and soon many of them may be extinct as they are endangered.
Thank you for visiting. Please stop by again.
      Best,

  2. Very cool site. I also like the names of the animals. I especially like the Seadragons.

I read your post about writing also. So true. They are giving up the pen for the keyboard. Sad. I wonder what that means for visual artist. As a designer I know that drawing on a computer is faster than by hand but I'd never want to give up pencil drawing entirely. At least our gneration still has the option.

I'll sign up to follow your blog.

    1. Thank you so much for visiting and for commenting. It is truly appreciated.
We are not using language in the same way we used to. Indeed, the ability to communicate well seems to be disappearing as texting increases. What to do, what to do?
I hope you have time to return and visit again.
      Best,
      Jeanne

  3. Australia has the best animals. I'm sure some would debate that but when I see a special about Australia, I can't get over the animals...so unique.

    1. I have to agree with you, Peggy. That's why my book is full of them. Many of them are endangered, and I hope, through my stories, to bring attention to their plight!
Thanks again, please come back to visit.

  7. Great stuff here, keep it up. Would love to pop over to Australia with its many fascinating and some dangerous creatures. And I say this next bit with tongue in cheek because I love Terry Pratchett's Discworld series, "Q: What won't kill you? A: Some of the sheep..." quote from his book "The Last Continent", which was supposedly the equivalent of Australia. My wife wants to go to New Zealand one day and if we get there, I want to pop over to Australia as well. Take care and keep up the great work.

    1. Hi Sherry,
So sorry it's taken so long to get back to you. I spent a bit of time changing my blog, and I do hope you will come back again to visit. My book will be released in about six weeks and I'm very excited about that as well. Again, thank you for the visit and your support.

  11. Hi Jeanne,
I found you on goodreads in the Aussie Readers group and followed the link here. I was interested in reading because I have a kid in the age group you've written for, and we are Australian and love Australian animals. I have to say we do take them for granted here. Thought you might like to see some of them up close and personal - I have pictures on an old blog post of mine from 2008 you might get a giggle from (scroll down to past the photo if the yellow digger, they're after that)http://natashaburns.blogspot.com.au/2008/02/summer-at-phillip-island-and-yes-im.html?m=1

  12. Sorry blogger is chopping off half my comment...

I look forward to finding out more about your books!! Natasha

Another link for you but I don't think the photos are showing any more is from my friend's blog. She visited with me from Seattle in 2009 and her account of our brush with nature is quite amusing!!
